History

Now in it's 24th year, the Boston Film Festival has become one of the cultural events that annually launches the fall film season. The 2008 Boston Film Festival will take place September 12th - September 18th at AMC Loews, Boston Common as well as venues throughout Boston.

The 2008 Boston Film Festival program will include unique selection of feature films, documentaries and shorts. Question and Answer sessions with directors and actors follow every screening giving moviegoers a first hand access to the filmmaking process. Additionally a selection of roundtable panel discussions with industry executives will be offered on opening weekend. Evening Filmmaker receptions are hosted by Boston's signature restaurants are an ideal setting for talent, directors, and sponsors to network as well as celebrate the daily premieres. The BFF is dedicated to supporting evolving filmmakers by providing a forum to showcase their artistic vision. Awards are presented in several categories. New awards recently added laud productions that influence green industry living in addition to "The Mass Impact Award" given to a filmmaker that illuminates a world issue that affects humanity.>

Over the past 24 years, the Festival has premiered illustrious films, including Amazing Grace, Trade, Lars and The Real Girl, Rails and Ties, The Last Kiss, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Deliver Us From Evil, Jesus Camp, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Prime, Matchstick Men, American Beauty and The Piano and many more.
