2023 Award Winners

39th Boston Film Festival Presents
Awards for Outspoken, Inspiring Cinema.

The 39th Boston Film Festival announced the awards today for the live event program. Sponsored by the Marina Studios, Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport, and Sip Bar & Restaurant, the renowned festival highlighted the best in feature, documentary, short and animated film as well as a special presentation at M.I.T. Media Lab of a groundbreaking new episodic television pilot, Found.

The Film Excellence Award was presented to actor Dermot Mulroney (Breakwater, My Best Friend’s Wedding) who was on hand to accept the award. A Lifetime Achievement Award for the late actor Treat Williams (American Outlaws) was accepted by his son, Gil Williams.

Special screenings were hosted at theatres throughout Boston with feature film American Outlaws winning five awards including Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Ensemble Cast.
